Buenos Aires, March 24 (NA) – Rosario star Lionel Messi arrived in the country to join the Argentina national team's training sessions ahead of friendlies against Mauritania and Zambia. He also shared a moment with Claudio Fabián Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association (AFA), which quickly made waves on social media. According to Argentine News Agency, the head of the regulatory body shared through his official account a series of images alongside the 'albiceleste' captain, locked in a heartfelt embrace. 'Welcome, captain! ALL TOGETHER,' 'Chiqui' wrote in the post. Amid the tension within the AFA due to discontent from several spectators over the current format of the Professional League and other Argentine football divisions, as well as recent controversies surrounding the Association, Tapia's post was far from well-received. The Argentina national team will face Mauritania this Friday at 8:15 PM at La Bombonera and on Tuesday, March 31, at the same time and venue against Zambia, as part of the final matches before the 2026 World Cup, to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
