In that brief span, Quiles started eleventh and in three laps took the lead after his countryman David Almansa crashed, thus achieving his first victory of the season after a second-place finish in the debut at the Thailand Grand Prix.
In this "second race", Morelli managed to climb from seventh place to take second, finishing just 0.143 thousandths behind Quiles, his teammate with whom they took the top two spots. Completing the podium was Indonesian Veda Petrama from the Honda Team Asia. Meanwhile, Argentine Perrone finished seventh and could not repeat the good performance he had at the Thailand Grand Prix, where he finished third behind Almansa and Quiles.
Buenos Aires, March 22 (NA) – Argentine Aspar Team rider Marco Morelli finished second in the Moto3 Brazil Grand Prix, while his compatriot from the Red Bull KTM Tech3 team, Valentín Perrone, came in seventh. According to the Noticias Argentinas news agency, it was the first time the Argentine had made it to the podium in the category, and consequently, marked his best performance in Moto3.
The winner of the Brazil Grand Prix, held for the first time at the Autódromo Internacional Ayrton Senna in Goiânia, was Morelli's Spanish teammate, Máximo Quiles. The race was held in two parts due to the red flag being thrown, which interrupted the normal flow of the race to assist British rider Scott Ogden, who lost stability around lap 15 of 24. This interruption forced a new restart, with the grid formed based on lap 14, and the race was scheduled for only 5 laps.
