Boca Juniors' coach Claudio Úbeda will repeat the team that thrashed Lanús to face San Lorenzo, despite the return of Alan Velasco and Ángel Romero. Both players will be available to the coach again, but everything indicates they will start the classic from the bench, as the technician tested during Sunday's practice at Boca Predio. The 3-0 victory in the southern derby brought a calmer atmosphere to the Boca world, and although the club recognizes that the result does not solve the team's problems, they also consider it could be a starting point to channel the collective performance. In this context, the coach intends to maintain the base that showed its best version so far this year and bet on the continuity of the starting eleven for the match against the Boedo club, according to the Argentine News Agency. To this intention is added positive news for the technical staff: the recovery of Velasco and Romero. The former Independiente player has overcome the left knee sprain he suffered against Deportivo Riestra in the first round, and after almost a month and a half of inactivity, he participated in a football practice with the substitutes during the week. At Boca, they believe he can already be integrated into the squad for the classic against San Lorenzo, although his return would come as an option from the bench to avoid risking the attacker. Romero also trained normally as the Paraguayan forward overcame a discomfort in his right adductor that left him out in recent days, although the medical study ruled out a tear. Ten days after the physical problem, the former San Lorenzo player returned to train with the squad and also has a chance to be part of the call-up against his former team. Beyond those recoveries, Sunday's tactical drill left the coach's decision clear: Úbeda will maintain the same team that showed its best performance of the cycle in the victory against Lanús, a match in which Boca found partnerships in attack, more depth, and a clearer playing circuit, with Leandro Paredes as the axis and Tomás Aranda as a partner in three-quarters of the field. In this way, the team that is shaping up to receive San Lorenzo would be: Agustín Marchesín; Marcelo Weigandt, Lautaro Di Lollo, Ayrton Costa, and Lautaro Blanco; Santiago Ascacíbar, Leandro Paredes, Milton Delgado, and Tomás Aranda; Miguel Merentiel and Ádam Bareiro.
Úbeda to Keep Boca's Lineup After Lanús Victory
Despite the return of Alan Velasco and Ángel Romero, Boca Juniors' coach Claudio Úbeda intends to keep the same lineup that thrashed Lanús 3-0 for the upcoming match against San Lorenzo.
