River to Use Panichelli Transfer Money for Debt Settlement

Buenos Aires, March 6 (NA) – River Plate will use the money it is set to receive from the sale of forward Joaquín Panichelli to settle its debt with Deportivo Alavés of Spain for the arrival of head coach Eduardo Coudet. According to the Argentine News Agency, the leadership of the 'Millionaire' decided to utilize a portion of the sum to be received to pay the compensation and prevent the conflict from being resolved in the judicial arena. River is set to receive 3.2 million euros, as it retains a 20% stake in Panichelli's registration when the forward moved from the aforementioned Alavés to Racing Strasbourg, the French club where he is having a historic personal campaign as the top scorer in Ligue 1. Being one of the players of the moment in European football, Joaquín Panichelli will be part of the negotiation that allows the 'Chacho' Coudet to join River. The attacker came through the youth ranks of the red-banded club, but did not get opportunities to reach the First Division, so he left as a free agent at the end of 2022, leaving 20% of his transfer to the club that formed him and being signed by Alavés. Already in Spain, Panichelli played some matches for the reserve team and played a total of 12 games, in which he failed to score goals and even suffered a ligament tear in one of his knees, before being loaned to Mirandés of the second Spanish category. It was in the Burgos-based team that he was able to demonstrate all his potential, scoring 21 goals and providing eight assists in the 44 matches he played in the season, being a fundamental piece for his team's arrival at the promotion playoff final and securing the interest of Racing Strasbourg, which bought him for 16 million euros, of which 3.2 belong to River, although the Argentine team has not yet collected its share. Because 'Chacho' had no intention of resigning in Spain, as a way of thanking the board for their trust and not to be viewed negatively by other entities in the Hispanic country with the possibility of returning in the future, River had to negotiate with Alavés for a compensation amount, which was reduced from the initial two million euros to the agreed figure of 1,160,000 euros. Upon reaching the agreement, at a club board meeting in the Núñez neighborhood, it was decided that the money received for Panichelli's transfer would be used for this matter, thus avoiding an extensive judicial procedure, maintaining a good relationship with the leadership of the 'albiazul' team and without affecting the institution's economy.
