River Plate will launch an unprecedented measure in recent Argentine football: the sale of alcoholic beer inside the Monumental Stadium. Purchase will be exclusively through exclusive presale via RiverID, enabled up to eight hours before the match starts, and only for those over 18 years of age. The club clarified that this is not a generalized sale. It will start next Saturday, when they host Tigre for the fourth date of Zone B of the Apertura Tournament, and it will be a pilot program with strong restrictions. According to the Argentine News Agency, the beer will cost 7,000 pesos for a 0.5-liter can, with a maximum limit of two units per person. On the contrary, the initiative will be limited to box and VIP spaces, while popular stands will not have this benefit. Fans located in the stands will not be able to purchase alcoholic beverages inside the stadium. River explained that it requested authorization from the Government of the City of Buenos Aires to carry out this 'extremely controlled' pilot experience, with full traceability and aligned with international standards. The sale will be carried out only in enabled sectors: Box 360, hospitality spaces, and the so-called Quilmes Spaces located in San Martín, Belgrano, Centenario, and Sívori, all with limited capacity and permanent access control. Regarding the purchase modality, in the boxes only the administrator of the space can purchase beer, according to the number of assigned seats, while in the hospitality sectors an additional in-situ sale will be allowed, always controlled through an application that verifies limits and age. The beer purchased must be consumed exclusively within the corresponding sector and cannot be transferred to other areas of the stadium. With this initiative, River will become the first Argentine club to sell alcoholic beverages again in an official match since the prohibition in effect since 1998, as part of an integral modernization plan that includes structural works, technological renewal, and changes in the spectator experience.
