La Martina Founder Calls Cambiaso More Talented Than Maradona

The founder of La Martina, Lando Simonetti, believes that polo player Adolfo Cambiaso is more talented than Diego Maradona. "Maradona has his legs, the grass, a big ball, and ten players covering him," he stated, clarifying that his comparison is not meant to diminish the football legend's stature but to highlight the structural complexity of polo. Simonetti pointed out that Cambiaso plays on horseback, on uneven terrain with holes, using a small mallet. In contrast to Maradona, he must control an animal that can reach speeds of 40-50 km/h and make split-second decisions. "It's insane, you have to be a computer," he said, adding that polo players use 5-6 horses per match, requiring complex logistical management. According to Simonetti, the context and risks in polo are far greater than in football, which makes Cambiaso a unique athlete.
