Buenos Aires, 25 December (NA) – Former Argentina international footballer Ángel Di María, now playing for Rosario Central, made headlines when he ignored a young girl who had waited for him to greet her after a Christmas celebration. In a video that went viral on social media and was accessed by Agencia Noticias Argentinas, a girl stood beside her father shouting at Di María as he left the Christmas celebration in a car. Despite the child’s insistence, Di María did not even lower the car window and simply drove away.
The incident has reignited criticism of Di María, who has been in the spotlight for several weeks after the Argentine Football Association announced the creation of a “League Champion” title that awarded Rosario Central an extra star, provoking backlash from football fans across the country.
