Former San Lorenzo president Marcelo Moretti stated that he will “request the annulment of the vacancy” following a meeting held last Tuesday at the Pedro Bidegain stadium, where several members of the Board of Directors presented their resignations. In a conversation with TyC Sports, as compiled by the Argentine News Agency, the former club leader spoke out against the resolution of the meeting held at the Boedo team's venue. The reason why Moretti himself expressed his intention to challenge the minutes is that he “won the elections legitimately” and that “democratic processes must be respected,” so this Thursday he will appear before the Justice to demand the annulment of the vacancy. On Wednesday, the former head of the blue-and-red team was processed for fraudulent administration. Prosecutor Mónica Cuñarro was the one who requested the processing as a result of the complaint filed by César Francis and Christian Meza, amidst an institutional crisis in the Flores club. Moretti will not be able to leave the country, and if found guilty, he could face up to six years in prison. In addition, he will not be able to hold any political office. However, the leader intends to regain his position. On the other hand, without naming names, he pointed against several members of the former Board. “I have made mistakes, such as the formation of the Board of Directors: it is full of traitors,” he stated. “There are very powerful people who want my place and are staging this coup d'état,” he blurted out. When asked about his gratitude to Claudio Fabián Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association, and Pablo Toviggino, treasurer of the regulatory body, Moretti was clear. “I thanked them because they have treated San Lorenzo and me as a person very well”. And he added: “Three hundred million pesos per month are taken from television rights since the previous management”. Finally, the former president recognized that “technically he is not the president” of the institution, but that “the minutes are forged and the Justice will have to determine its nullity” while, according to the official statement published by San Lorenzo, “The Extraordinary Assembly to elect the 20 members of the new Transitional Board of Directors will be held this Monday, December 22, at 6:00 p.m., at the Pedro Bidegain stadium”. “Behind me I have no political party or anyone known in the media”.
