Buenos Aires, December 10 (NA) – Ubaldo Matildo 'Pato' Fillol, the world champion goalkeeper with the Argentine national team in 1978, shared his joy after returning to high school and acing his first exam with a perfect 10.
The historic goalkeeper of the Argentine national team, who turned 75 in July, published a video on social media in which he talked about his decision to finish his studies and how he took his first exam.
"I'm taking Geography. After playing in the 1970 Metropolitano for the 'Brewer', he went to Racing, where he played between 1972 and 1973 and from 1987 to 1989 in his second period at the 'Academy'.
'Pato' had a long career at River, where he played from 1973 to 1978, while also defending the goals of Argentinos Juniors (1983), Flamengo (1984 to 1985), Atlético de Madrid (1985 to 1986), and Vélez (1989 to 1990).
In his record, there are several local titles with River, a Spanish Super Cup with Atlético de Madrid, the South American Super Cup with Racing, and two regional championships with Flamengo.
However, the highlight of his career is winning the 1978 World Cup, where he was fundamental for the team coached by César Luis Menotti to lift the World Cup for the first time in history.
'Two months ago I decided to finish high school and I was able to enroll in this subject, the only one this year, and we aced it,' Fillol began in the video.
He also revealed: 'There were 20 questions and we got one or two true or false questions wrong, but well, it's within the grading of a 10.'
Finally, he thanked the teachers: 'They helped me a lot, I had six or seven meetings with them and it was fundamental.'
Fillol began his professional football career in 1969, the year in which he played only one match in the 1969 Metropolitano Tournament for Quilmes.
