Maxi López on His Return to Argentina and Future Plans

Former footballer Maxi López shared his thoughts on his participation in 'MasterChef Celebrity', his stay in Argentina, and future work plans in the country.

At Ezeiza International Airport, López said he is returning to his home in Switzerland to be present for the birth of his son Lando with Swedish model Daniela Christiansson: "The due date is set for the 19th or 20th (of January)", he confirmed to 'Intrusos' (América TV), as reported by the Argentine News Agency.

Regarding his time on the cooking reality show, which he is "temporarily leaving" to reunite with his family, he said: "I'm taking an incredible group of people with me." He also added: "I try to enjoy every moment".

On the possibility of moving back to the country, he stated: "After more than 20 years, this trip to Argentina has thrilled me to be able to share so many moments with my children. Having all my children together fills my soul, so that's what I'm aiming for."

When asked about working with his ex-wife after a public and controversial divorce and years of conflict, he explained: "It was a long process. It was something I had been seeking for a long time, for years, looking for peace to give stability to the kids. It cost us a lot."

López recalled his years with Wanda Nara: "One day she came... She realized some things when there are moments in life that are strong, that can hit you and mark you, and one resets... She told me: 'I need us to have a good relationship, to be closer, to work for the kids' and I was all for it."

"It was actually a new experience, because it was quite new for me, everything was new really, and I had fun, I had a good time, I enjoyed it, I got emotional," he shared.

Although he will now spend some time away from Argentina, he did not rule out the possibility of returning to the country with his family: "I have several offers that I will analyze in December," he confirmed.

"I've always liked sitting on the sofa watching the games calmly, and this time maybe I'll work," he added.

Along the same lines, the athlete commented on his media appearance sharing the screen with his ex-wife, Wanda Nara: "I relaxed," he said.

"My role is to be myself, because I'm authentic and that's what I'm showing of me. We've been through many moments, we've matured, we've left all our differences behind."

López hinted at a possible project on Telefe related to the World Cup: "I'm talking about two proposals in Argentina and one abroad for the World Cup topic."
