Huracán Appoints Diego Martínez as New Head Coach

Huracán has defined the technical direction for the next cycle and agreed to the return of Diego Martínez, who will sign a contract until June 2027 and return to the club following his departure at the beginning of 2024. This was reported by the Argentine news agency. The club's leadership, headed by Abel Poza, finalized the negotiations after several days of internal discussions, bringing to an end the search that began after the departure of Frank Kudelka. The decision was made after an evaluation of the sporting scenario following the elimination in the Clausura. The normalization of relations between both parties was crucial to move forward. In his previous departure, Huracán received 175 million pesos for the termination of the coach's contract. His first cycle concluded with 23 matches in charge and a record of 12 wins, two draws, and nine defeats. The current negotiations extended longer than expected due to the coach's representative, Luciano Krikorián, being out of the country, although this factor did not alter the institutional decision. The leadership intends to resume the sporting project interrupted in 2023, which maintains Daniel Vega as the sporting director, Walter Coyette in the youth divisions, and Mauro Milano in the Reserve. Huracán will not have international participation in 2026, but the management aims to recover the competitive order shown in the last Apertura, where the team reached the final.
