Security Operations in Buenos Aires End with Over 220 Reports

The Ministry of Security of the City of Buenos Aires deployed high-complexity operations this weekend for the Boca-Talleres matches at La Bombonera and Vélez-Argentinos Juniors at the José Amalfitani stadium. These operations concluded with over 220 contraventional reports, one fugitive detained, and strict control over the right of admission applied to fans with active records. According to information compiled by the Argentine News Agency, the operation carried out at Boca on Sunday saw the highest activity: 203 contraventional reports were issued, mainly directed at fans attempting to enter without a ticket into the security perimeter or who had active restrictions within the 'Tribuna Segura' (Safe Standings) system. During these checks, a 46-year-old man was also detained, identified by the Football Events Security System (SISEF), which revealed an active arrest warrant from the Rosario justice system since 2024. Eleven of these reports corresponded to fans with an active right of admission, while the rest included attempts to enter without a ticket, throwing objects onto the field, and detecting individuals attempting to bring pyrotechnics into the stadium. In turn, three buses with about 150 fans were checked, two of which were seized due to lack of documentation. Both procedures are part of the comprehensive prevention plan for sporting events, which aims to reduce incidents, ensure compliance with current regulations, and strengthen controls on public access and the transportation of fans on high-attendance days. Under judicial order, the suspect was transferred to the police station to be made available to the intervening judge. The deployment at La Bombonera also included the issuance of reports for incitement to disorder, improper use of public space, and various schemes that violated current regulations. Operationally, the event involved the Mass Events Prevention Directorate, Traffic agents, Prevention personnel, and various areas of the Comprehensive Public Security System, which reinforced the control rings in the neighborhood. In parallel, a second operation was carried out on Saturday at the José Amalfitani stadium, where 21 contraventional reports were issued.
