Deportivo Morón Coach Walter Otta Calls AFA Sanction Unjust

Buenos Aires, November 14 (NA) – Deportivo Morón's coach, Walter Otta, appeared on the “Ascenso x 3” show on Splendid AM 990 and stated that the sanction imposed on him for statements he did not make against the president of the AFA, Claudio Tapia, and his treasurer, Pablo Toviggino, is “a total injustice.”

Following the 'Gallo's' 1-0 victory over Deportivo Madryn last Saturday in the first leg of the playoff for the second promotion to the Professional League, the AFA's Ethics Tribunal sanctioned Otta for one month for allegedly making statements against Tapia and Toviggino, which he did not make, as reported by the Argentine News Agency (NA).

In this context, the head coach was a guest on the “Ascenso x 3” show on Splendid AM 990 and said: “The club will do everything possible to see if this can be reversed. Obviously, we spoke with the union, I spoke with Mariano Pazzini, who is a personal friend of mine, and the union will be presenting a letter and doing everything it has to do. I hope it is reversed tomorrow, and if not, it will surely make us much stronger as a group, and our players will go to give it their all with more desire,” he added.

“We will do everything we have to do to be able to reverse this, because the reality is that it is a total injustice that they suspend me for something I did not say and that everyone already knows is fake news. The truth is incredible, unprecedented,” he stated.

“The statement they attribute to me is a very strong statement, a criticism of Tapia and Toviggino, something I did not do. That is why they sanction me, but we have already presented all the evidence. Honestly, I don't understand the sanction, it hit me hard. Everyone already knows it was fake news, that I hadn't said that, and the same page it came from denied it, saying they had not spoken with me,” the coach emphasized.

This Sunday at 5:15 PM, Deportivo Morón will visit Deportivo Madryn at the Abel Sastre stadium in the second leg of the playoff for the second promotion to the Professional League. The 'Gallo' must defend the 1-0 they achieved at the Nuevo Francisco Urbano stadium and win or draw to advance to the grand final, which will take place at a neutral venue next week.
