Boca's Lineup for the Superclásico against River Plate

Boca Juniors' head coach, Claudio Úbeda, has defined the starting lineup that will take the field at La Bombonera to face River Plate in a new edition of the Superclásico, corresponding to the fifteenth matchday of the 2025 Clausura Tournament.

During Thursday's training session, the 'Xeneize' manager cleared up the only doubt he had in midfield and appears to be fully prepared to seek victory against the 'Millionaire' and secure qualification for the 2026 Copa Libertadores.

The uncertainty revolved around the center of the field, where the blue and gold coaching staff was considering the possibility of Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera starting against Marcelo Gallardo's team instead of Carlos Palacios. However, following Thursday's practice, the player from across the ocean would have won the duel over the European and will complete the four-man line in the middle of the park, with the added return of Leandro Paredes to the lineup after serving a suspension in Boca's 2-1 victory over Estudiantes de La Plata.

Furthermore, the good form of Exequiel Zeballos would be key for Úbeda to impose his game in that area of the field, with the world champion and Milton Delgado as the main axes.

In attack, not only is Edinson Cavani not expected to be in peak physical condition due to a right thigh muscle strain and trained separately, but the duo of Miguel Merentiel and Milton Giménez is also gaining more strength.

Finally, the defensive line will feature Juan Barinaga on the right, while Lautaro Blanco will do the same on the left, with the central pairing consisting of Lautaro Di Lollo and Ayrton Costa.

Coach: Claudio Úbeda.
