President Javier Milei is receiving this morning in Casa Rosada the governors of PRO and close associates to discuss the 2025 Budget before the debate in Congress. Present at the meeting are Jorge Macri (CABA), Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Ignacio "Nacho" Torres (Chubut), Marcelo Orrego (San Juan), and Claudio Poggi (San Luis), who each passed through the Salón de los Bustos on their way to the Salón Eva Perón.
The president welcomed them accompanied by the Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos; the Deputy Chief of Staff for the Interior, Lisandro Catalán; and the Secretary General of the Presidency, Karina Milei. The meeting aims to explain the advances in economic matters, the impact of the Base Law and the RIGI, as well as to anticipate the next steps of the administration.
During the meeting, the president insists on respecting the zero deficit, while the governors present their claims corresponding to their jurisdictions. For his part, the head of ministers emphasizes that the Government has been managing by reducing expenses, with no intention of investing more national resources beyond the committed works.
Regarding the 2025 Budget, in the libertarian administration they claim to be open to relinquishing items, as long as the destination of those funds is clearly established to achieve a fiscal surplus. The provincial representatives bring a list of demands that include a new co-participation law, public works, and pending transfers of pension funds.
After having talked with the northern governors at the Olivos residence, Javier Milei is now seeking to approach the dialoguing factions, starting with the PRO sector. The intention is to close the circle with the governors of the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR), who are key to guaranteeing the allocations for the upcoming year and closing agreements with dialoguing blocs in the Chamber of Deputies for the approval of the 2025 Budget in a session at the end of November.
It is expected to conclude the informational meetings on Wednesday, November 6, issue a report on Tuesday, the 12th, and hold the session on the 26th or 27th of the next month for Senate approval during an extraordinary session.
