Trial for Maradona's Death Begins in Argentina

In Argentina, the trial concerning the death of Diego Armando Maradona has begun. During the first hearing on Tuesday, all parties involved expressed 'good feelings,' noting that 'the judges showed authority.' One of the defense lawyers, Nicolás D'Albora, stated that, in his opinion, this trial should not have started because significant issues, such as the 'ne bis in idem' principle (double jeopardy), remain unresolved. He also emphasized that for his client, Nancy Forlini, the head of Maradona's home care, 'innocence is clear.' 'She has nothing to do with the good or bad medical treatment Diego Maradona received,' the lawyer said. Meanwhile, prosecutor Patricio Ferrari highlighted the reasonableness of the judges' decision to require parties to provide a list of witnesses at least 24 hours in advance. The lawyers for psychologist Carlos Díaz asserted that their client is innocent, as his work was done properly and he should not be accused of wanting to harm or isolate Maradona.
