Buenos Aires Justice Closes Hotel After Cocaine Operation

The Justice of the City of Buenos Aires closed a hotel in the Constitución neighborhood where a cocaine operation took place and ordered the arrest of two transgender women who were engaged in drug dealing in the area. Sources from the Buenos Aires Public Prosecutor's Office informed the Argentine News Agency that personnel from the Government Control Agency (AGC), along with the 1st South Criminal Investigations Division and the K-9 Division of the City Police, and the National Directorate of Migration, carried out the procedure at the property on Santiago del Estero Street 1400, where 33 drug wrappers were seized. The manager of the place allowed authorities access, who found the narcotics on the window of a bathroom in one of the rooms rented by two people. The owner of the hotel stated that in the central part of the building, the suspects threw a cloth bag that, when confiscated, was found to contain a precision scale and 91 doses, with a total weight of one kilogram of cocaine. An officer conducted a test that was positive for that substance, and the contents matched the items seized during a previous operation in the same building last Saturday, which could not lead to a raid because the intervening judge did not validate it. At that time, four transgender women avoided being identified by officers who were patrolling the neighborhood preventatively by entering the hotel and closing the door on the police, who observed that a black nylon bag fell from them. Two of the accused were detained and are at the disposal of the Flagrancy Unit (UFLA).
