Argentina, Buenos Aires. A high-value real estate deal in the Caballito neighborhood is at the center of an investigation into alleged illicit enrichment. The property, a four-room apartment, was first sold for USD 200,000, significantly below its initial listing price of USD 340,000. Less than a month later, it was resold to the then presidential spokesperson for USD 230,000. The payment for the second sale included an advance of USD 30,000, with the remaining balance to be paid interest-free over a year. The real estate company's defense is firm, stating they were not involved in the second sale and did not know the buyers or the official. However, a witness testified that the formal buyers, who only signed the documents, were proxies for their sons, one of whom was a close associate of the official. Law enforcement has conducted raids on the real estate agency to seize documentation. The Justice must now determine if this was a simple business transaction or a scheme to conceal the property's true path of ownership.
