Buenos Aires City Prioritizes Its Residents in All Public Services

Head of Government of Buenos Aires City, Jorge Macri, announced the expansion of the "Priority for Porteños" policy to all public services in the city. This policy was previously applied in the health sector. Now, city residents will have priority when booking appointments, securing spots, or accessing any other services in public institutions. Macri emphasized that this measure is intended to prevent Porteños from paying taxes for services used by residents of the Buenos Aires Province and foreigners. He stated, "The city will no longer be the free prepaid insurance for any foreigner." However, the priority system will not apply in emergency cases where immediate assistance is provided without regard to domicile. The city government also demanded that the Governor of the Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof, cover the costs for homeless individuals from the province who are in the city.
