The Governor of Buenos Aires Province, Axel Kicillof, announced the launch of the “MDF University and Science” project and questioned the national government's direction in science and education policies. In a message posted on social media platform X, the official stated: “We are here to plant the flag of national industry, science, and sovereignty,” as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening these sectors. Kicillof affirmed that the new project is a response to President Javier Milei's “adjustment and destruction model,” and emphasized that “there is no development without science and education.” In this regard, the governor proposed that “another path” is possible and called for building it by defending the scientific system, the public university, national industry, and sovereignty. The event took place on Thursday, the 9th, in the Aula Magna of Pavilion 2 of Ciudad Universitaria, where the provincial official seeks to position himself as a candidate for the upcoming elections in 2027.
