Milei to meet with Gallo at Casa Rosada after his release from Venezuela

President Javier Milei will meet this Wednesday at the Casa Rosada with Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo, who was released over a month ago after being kidnapped by the government of Nicolás Maduro in Venezuela. The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. This will be the president's first contact with Gallo since his release, which took place on March 1 after 448 days in captivity. The release was the result of efforts made by the Argentine Football Association (AFA). After his release, which occurred after the intervention of the United States in Venezuela and the subsequent detention of Maduro, the security officer was received by Minister of Security Alejandra Monteoliva and Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno at Ezeiza Airport. Both ministers also accompanied him on March 3 at a press conference at the National Gendarmerie's Centinela Building, where he gave details of his detention at Rodeo I in Caracas. At the end of March, the gendarme returned to his home province of Catamarca, where he was received by Governor Raúl Jalil. During his reunion with his family, Gallo asked to 'not forget' the political prisoners who remain in Venezuela, including the Argentine Germán Giuliani. To the meeting with the two Executive Branch representatives was added the meeting convened by the head of the La Libertad Avanza bloc in the Senate, Patricia Bullrich, with a handful of libertarian lawmakers and allies.
