National Chamber of Deputies deputy for Provincias Unidas, Esteban Paulón, today appeared before a plenary session of lower house committees wearing a t-shirt that caused a stir with its sarcastic phrase aimed at Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni. Adorni is currently embroiled in several judicial scandals due to lavish trips abroad with his family and the emergence of properties in his name that he has not declared. The phrase 'A deslomarse que esas cuotas no se pagan solas' (Work yourself to death, those installments don't pay for themselves) is a reference to Adorni's own words. He had coined the verb 'deslomarse' (to work oneself to the bone) to describe his work in New York, where he managed to get his wife, Bettina Angeletti, a seat on the presidential plane to accompany him. The reference to 'cuotas' (installments) also alludes to another controversy surrounding the libertarian administration, concerning preferential-rate mortgage loans granted by the National Bank to officials and lawmakers of La Libertad Avanza.
