On Tuesday, April 5, the National Government aims to approve the reform of the Glacier Law and have it sanctioned before this Friday, April 10. According to information accessed by the Argentine News Agency (NA), La Libertad Avanza (LLA) believes it has the necessary votes to approve this modification and promote mining investments, especially in copper and lithium areas. This Tuesday at 2 p.m., a joint commission meeting was called, chaired by José Peluc from the Natural Resources and Human Environment Conservation Commission and by Nicolás Mayoraz from the Constitutional Affairs Commission, to deliberate on the reform project and prepare the scenario for the session scheduled for Wednesday, the 8th. There will also be an informational meeting with guest speakers, including governors from several provinces interested in the issue, followed by the signing of the opinions. This commission meeting will take place after holding Public Hearings last month, where around 200 speakers participated in person and another 200 virtually out of the 100,000 registered. This situation was repudiated by environmental organizations and opposition blocs.
