Four men, two Chileans, one Ecuadorian, and one Colombian, were arrested in Buenos Aires on charges of breaking into homes to commit robberies in the Liniers and Villa Crespo neighborhoods. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the first operation took place on Pieres Street, 300, where City of Buenos Aires police received an alert about two individuals attempting to enter a residence. One of the suspects acted as a lookout and was in possession of a dog, while the other criminal fled towards CaaguazĂș, discarding a backpack before getting into a Peugeot 207. A pursuit ensued, and the vehicle crashed into a tree on Basualdo Street, 100. The suspects continued on foot but were apprehended; one, a 35-year-old Colombian national, and the other, a 27-year-old Ecuadorian, were arrested. Authorities seized a backpack, clothing, two mobile phones, three screwdrivers, a ziplock bag, 179,500 pesos, a vehicle key, two metal tips, two SUBE cards, a wallet, a radio, a phone cable, and a utility knife. The second incident occurred on Darwin Street, 1200, in Villa Crespo. Police responded to a theft, where one perpetrator attempted to escape but was caught, while his accomplice, who was descending from a balcony, was also captured. Both Chileans, aged 18 and 23, arrived in a Ford Kuga, a vehicle that had been sought since February 26th for an aggravated robbery case requested by the Malvinas Argentinas Police Station. The building showed no signs of forced entry, but tools for gaining access to apartments were found. The intervening magistrate ordered the arrest of the foreigners, the seizure of the van and the found tools, and the standard measures were taken.
