Argentina's Minister of Justice, Juan Bautista Mahiques, met with the leadership of the Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation to discuss key issues of ministry management, the advancement of judicial nominations, and the implementation of the new Criminal Procedure Code.

Buenos Aires, March 31 (NA) – The Federal Chamber of Criminal Cassation received the Minister of Justice of the Nation, Juan Bautista Mahiques, this Tuesday in a meeting headed by the president of the court, Diego G. Barroetaveña, along with judges of the highest criminal court. The meeting, held in the Agreement Room, was attended by judges Diego Barroetaveña, Guillermo Yacobucci, Javier Carbajo, Daniel Petrone, Angela Ledesma, Carlos Mahikas, Mariano Borinskyy, Gustavo Hornos, along with the Secretary of Justice, Santiago Viola. During the meeting, the minister presented the management guidelines of the Ministry of Justice and referred to the progress in the magistrates' files raised last March 25 to the Honorable Senate of the Nation, as well as to the continuity of the proceedings to fill existing vacancies. Additionally, he addressed the implementation of the Federal Criminal Procedure Code, which is underway in all jurisdictional districts, along with the needs related to that process, where he highlighted the role of institutional coordinator of the court, as learned by the Argentine News Agency.
