Deputy Passaglia Announces PRO's Identity Loss and Milei's Candidacy

Buenos Aires, March 19 (NA) – Provincial Deputy Manuel Passaglia assured today that the PRO party “has already chosen Javier Milei as its presidential candidate” and maintained that the party “has lost its identity,” ahead of a meeting led by Mauricio Macri. The mayor of San Nicolás expressed himself in harsh terms about his former allies by stating: “There is not much to decide, they were together in the last elections, they voted all the laws together, and many of the officials in the current national government are from PRO.” In statements to Radio La Red, he added that “there are no differences between one space and another because they took care of working together these years. PRO, unfortunately, lost its identity.” According to what Argentine News Agency was able to learn, Passaglia had already distanced himself from the agreement between PRO and La Libertad Avanza in May of last year, when he denounced that it was not an alliance but a “submission” of the yellow party to the violet one. In this context, along with his brother Santiago, the current mayor of San Nicolás, he promoted the creation of the HECHOS space, with which they competed in the electoral section. Passaglia headed the provincial deputies' ballot and managed to become the only section that broke the polarization between La Libertad Avanza and Kirchnerism. “This is a first step towards what is to come. A space that represents an alternative to the national government and to the Ks and that will constitute itself as an option at the provincial level,” he had stated at that time.
