Rubén Lopresti, a representative of the residents whose homes are adjacent to the Bombonera stadium, has categorically denied the official statements from the Boca Juniors leadership regarding the impossibility of acquiring the necessary properties for the stadium's expansion. According to the spokesperson, there is a 'total consensus' among the owners of the 23 lots on Iberlucea Street to proceed with the sale, refuting the club's arguments about legal impediments, conflicting property titles, or heritage conditions. Lopresti emphasized a persistent 'lack of genuine dialogue' from the club's leadership, especially from Juan Román Riquelme. 'They never crossed the street to talk to the neighbors, they never came over for a mate, and nothing at all,' he stated. He also challenged the claim that 21 houses are declared historical heritage, asserting that as the owner of the property, there is a law that allows them to sell it even if it is declared a heritage site. 'I'm categorically lying about what I just heard,' Lopresti declared. He concluded, 'Therefore, we categorically deny everything they are saying', reaffirming that the neighbors remain willing to sell, awaiting a formal proposal that has not yet been presented.
