Argentine President Milei Spoke with Businessman Before $LIBRA Token Launch

Buenos Aires, March 13 (NA) – An expert report incorporated into the case known as 'Cryptogate' revealed that President Javier Milei had communications with businessman Mauricio Novelli minutes before and after the social media post promoting the $LIBRA token. This is based on the forensic analysis of the businessman's cell phone. According to the report prepared by the Judicial Assistance Directorate in Complex Crimes and Organized Crime (DATIP), which was accessed by the Argentine News Agency and already included in the file being handled at the Comodoro Py courts, several WhatsApp video calls between the two were registered on February 14. The new data added to the file aims to reconstruct the sequence of communications prior to and following the presidential post. The first contact occurred at 18:58 when Novelli called Milei and they spoke until 18:59. Two minutes later, at 19:01, the head of state published the message on social networks announcing the token launch. Immediately after, at 19:03, Novelli contacted Milei again and they spoke until 19:04, as detailed in the expert report. The report also states that after this contact, Novelli attempted to call Karina Milei at 19:04, although the call was not answered. The records correspond to WhatsApp video calls that had been deleted and recovered from the app's trash bin. The judicial case is investigating the circumstances surrounding the dissemination of the $LIBRA token and whether there were any irregular maneuvers related to its launch and promotion.
