Buenos Aires, March 12 (NA) – Emily Ceco, who is leading a case for attempted femicide by her ex-partner (Santiago Martínez), testified during the first day of the judicial process before the Morón Tribunal for over four hours, and recounted in detail the episodes of violence she claims to have suffered. In an exclusive interview with the Argentine News Agency, the victim's lawyer, Roberto Castillo, confessed that he experienced a moment of high emotional stress during his testimony this Wednesday: "She is very shaken, she testified for more than four hours." During her presentation before the Justice, Ceco reconstructed the facts that led to the attack that almost cost her life: "She recounted all the facts she suffered until he strangled her to take her life." The young woman's testimony was one of the central instances of the first hearing of the trial, in which other witnesses linked to the case also testified. Among them was the father of the accused Martínez, who also testified before the tribunal. According to Castillo, the man referred directly to the responsibility of his son in the facts under investigation: "The father testified and said that Santiago should answer for what he did." Regarding the current status of the judicial process, the lawyer explained that the trial will advance rapidly in the coming days. As for the trial's calendar, the lawyer anticipated that the process is in its final stage: "Arguments on Friday and sentence." In this way, the tribunal will listen in the coming days to the final arguments of the parties before announcing the verdict in a case that keeps the victim's family and those closely following the process's development in suspense.
