Buenos Aires, March 11 (NA) – The La Libertad Avanza bloc of senators expressed this Wednesday its rejection of a potential increase in salaries in the upper house and stated that it does not accept a rise in their remunerations. Through a statement released on social networks, the libertarian lawmakers noted that “the people expect from us a response consistent with our principles” and, in that line, affirmed that they consider that “our salary should not be increased”. In the text, the group also stated that senators receive “a remuneration well above the average income of society” and emphasized that it is not the time to proceed with an improvement in their earnings. “In a context in which millions of Argentines make efforts every day, we believe that politics must accompany with responsibility,” they added from the bloc, according to the Argentine News Agency. Finally, the senators of La Libertad Avanza affirmed that their commitment is to act “with coherence and respect for the effort of Argentines,” in a message with strong political content amid the discussion about the income of the leadership.
