National Deputy Eduardo Falcone criticized Chief of Staff Manuel Adorni for defining his official trip to New York as a 'sacrifice' and defending his wife's right to accompany him on the presidential plane, considering his statements to be 'total bullshit'. The Buenos Aires province lawmaker, a member of the MID bloc, questioned the official in a post on social media X, stating that he 'went off the road with his self-perception of what it means to break one's back'. The deputy, who has defined himself as a developer since 1982 and voted on initiatives like RIGI and Clean Slate, affirmed that in a 'normal country' it should not be controversial for a Chief of Staff to bring his wife to New York for four days at no cost to the State. However, he highlighted what he considered a contradiction in the official's actions: 'The problem is that this Chief of Staff played the rogue so much questioning the same thing of the Ks (Kirchners) when he was in the opposition, and has been so cocky since he came to power, that it was inevitable that now it would come back to bite him'. The controversy arose during the trip of the official delegation headed by President Javier Milei to the United States, where Adorni defended his wife's presence on the presidential plane during an interview on A24. According to statements distributed and to which the Argentine News Agency had access, the Chief of Staff explained: 'She is my wife, my life partner, she was going to travel with me, she paid her ticket, $5,345 as of February 26, then due to the change in schedule, the Presidency invited her to board with me otherwise we were not going to meet. We didn't spend a single peso of the State's money'. Adorni added that these positions involve 'very sacrificial work' and affirmed that he wanted his wife to accompany him on the trip. Official sources indicated that the trip included activities within the framework of the 'Argentina Week' in New York, with the participation of allied governors and various meetings.
