Six Men, One with Active Warrants, Detained in Buenos Aires

In Buenos Aires, six men, one of whom had three outstanding arrest warrants, were detained as part of a saturation operation in the Balvanera neighborhood. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the Directorate of Criminal and Contraventional Investigations, through its Department of Contraventions and Offenses, coordinated the procedure that led to the arrest of five adults on the nights of March 5 and 6 for violating Law 23.737 on drugs. Officers seized 14 packages of marijuana, five of cocaine, one of tusi, mobile phones, and two Tramontina knives. The sixth suspect, an Ecuadorian national, was apprehended due to three active arrest warrants requested by an Oral Court and two courts. Additionally, ten reports were filed for various violations of the City's Contraventional Code, including public solicitation of sex (Article 97), exceeding commercial licensing limits (Article 100), and carrying non-conventional weapons (Article 103). Vehicle controls were conducted at main access points and avenues, where 27 cars were inspected, and one vehicle was impounded for lack of insurance and an expired license. Along with the Government Agency for Control and the Ministry of Public Space, inspections of commercial establishments in the area were carried out, resulting in the closure of a kiosk on Jujuy Avenue 100 for poor security conditions and the replacement of a damaged seal on another location at La Rioja 200. Finally, four people in street situations were referred to city government shelters.
