The family of Loan Peña, who has been missing for over 20 months in Corrientes, expressed their complaints about Fernando Burlando in the early days of the investigation. In a conversation with the Argentine News Agency, the parents stated that they are now "happy with the legal team they have".
"We feel safe and confident with the defense of attorney María Belén Russo Cornara and her team," said María Noguera.
In this context, she accused Burlando, the family's first lawyer, of "creating a lot of show" and "not focusing on the search for Loan".
Although she did not mention the second lawyer who joined the case after Burlando, Juan Pablo Gallegos, the boy's mother stated that the main problem was that they did not even have their own expert to accompany the forensic examinations.
"At the beginning, no expert came, and now with this new team, we had the opportunity for one to come who did everything quickly and well, although unfortunately, 20 months later," she remarked.
