Justice is investigating drafts of a “confidential agreement” that President Javier Milei would have signed with American businessman Hayden Davis, fifteen days before the launch of the $Libra crypto scam. These documents were recovered by computer specialists from the Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF). Experts recovered from the cell phones of businessman Mauricio Novelli, one of the most important participants in the $Libra scandal, a draft of the agreement between Milei and Davis, which would have been signed on January 30, 2025, two weeks before the launch of the cryptocurrency. The information, published this Tuesday by the newspaper La Nación, indicates that the drafts of the confidential agreement were on a phone that Federal Prosecutor Eduardo Taiano seized from Novelli, and it was recovered by experts from the Directorate of Technological Support for Criminal Investigations (DATIP).
$Libra Case: Assets of Hayden Davis and two new operators are frozen. Milei, who in the days before the launch received several of those involved in the $Libra scandal at the Government House, such as Davis, Novelli, Manuel Terrones Godoy, or Sergio Morales, has always denied to date having subscribed to agreements or conventions on this matter. The DATIP experts presented an opinion on January 9 in which they stated they had found several copies of the draft of the “confidential agreement” in chats between Novelli and Davis. January 30, to which the drafts refer, was the date on which Milei met at the Casa Rosada with Davis, who transferred, according to financial records, USD 499,999 to a virtual wallet at the exact time of the meeting with the President. According to what Noticias Argentinas was able to find out, forty-two minutes after the meeting at the Casa Rosada, a similar amount was transferred. In total, that day Davis transferred US$3.9 million that ended up in the accounts of Novelli and Terrones Godoy. After being notified of these findings, Prosecutor Taiano requested the Casa Rosada last Tuesday to inform if it had knowledge or copies of that agreement.
