President Javier Milei closed the day on Sunday, after having formally inaugurated the ordinary sessions in Congress, with a dinner together with libertarian legislators and allies and the complete Cabinet at the Olivos residence. According to Noticias Argentinas agency, one of those present reported that the head of state avoided giving a speech to the hundred attendees, 178 people from the PRO and La Libertad Avanza blocs in both chambers, the deputies of the Civic Radical Union (UCR) and the full team of ministers and secretaries. However, he opted for personal contact with each one throughout the evening that began at 23:45 and ended after 1 in the morning. 'He didn't speak, but he received us one by one and stayed chatting,' confessed a legislator who was present. The menu was simple, suitable for a long night, after closely following the hour and forty of the president's speech with which he formally began the period of ordinary sessions in Congress. With canapés and empanadas as an appetizer, deputies, senators and ministers ate standing a glazed meat stew with potatoes and could choose between a chocolate marquise and a flan with dulce de leche and cream. Despite the expanded call, it was the determination of the Executive Branch not to serve alcohol and to accompany the meal with mineral water. 'There was more than one long face due to the issue,' joked an official who attended the event. Milei reaffirmed his alliance with the United States: 'It is time to make this a state policy'. As in March 2025, the libertarian decided to repeat the social plan to conclude the day, but this time he extended it to the allied blocs that made it possible to sanction the bulk of the agenda designed for the extraordinary sessions. Although the invitation reached those who collaborated with the officialism, the UCR's senatorial bloc and the MID's deputy bloc chose not to attend. The latter did so to express their discomfort due to the escape of Buenos Aires legislator Sandra Rey, who left the space to swell the ranks of the 'violet' ones led by Pilar Ramírez. During his speech from the heart of the Chamber of Deputies, the President thanked the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, with particular mention to those who 'accompanied', but also to 'those who sabotage and want to sink the country', referring to the peronist bloc, with whom he polarized most of the night. After months of scarce parliamentary representation, La Libertad Avanza ensures it has a floor of 40 wills in the Upper House, between its own and partners, and a minimum of 117 in the Lower among which the 95 'violet', the 12 of PRO and representatives of the provincial blocs stand out.
