While Argentine President Javier Milei was delivering his speech during the opening of the ordinary sessions at the National Congress, comedian and writer Malena Pichot sparked controversy on social media with a series of ironic comments about the broadcast and the institutional event.
According to the Argentine News Agency, Pichot questioned the staging and style of the president in several tweets. "They raised the camera from the state network so his double chin wouldn't be visible," she wrote.
Additionally, the comedian made ironic remarks about the comparison the president made with previous administrations. "He keeps talking about the previous government, which didn't even inaugurate a single bathroom," she commented.
Finally, she expressed her views on the current composition of Congress: "The most loose-cannon Congress ever," alluding to a TV show hosted by Alejandro Fantino that featured comedians and showgirls. She also referred to the presence of the newly elected deputy, Virginia Gallardo.
Her tone of commentary was far from monotonous. "Oh my god, Virginia Gallardo is sitting. Isn't that too much?" she wrote, continuing with irony about Milei's oratory: "What powerful oratory, damn."
