The Buenos Aires legislator (PRO) Waldo Wolf pointed out that President Donald Trump, from his administration, is promoting 'a new geopolitical format for the world' and that, 'as a leader of a part of the world,' he decided to 'change the rules.' In an interview with Radio Rivadavia, he stated that 'beyond the consideration of each one, whether they identify with the North American government or not,' it was unthinkable until recently that the former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro would be imprisoned in the United States. 'If two months ago we thought that someone said that Maduro was going to be imprisoned in New York and that Delcy Rodríguez was going to be ruling Venezuela, it would have been impossible. (Trump) understood this new line that, as I said before, in the Middle East the rules are not as they are in the West. I understand that the model that the world thought of after World War II with the creation of the United Nations, where the West is required to solve problems according to our vision of institutions, democracy, and international pacts, is falling apart,' said Wolf. In the same vein, he pointed out that in 'that other part of the world,' there are dictatorships, theocracies, and kingdoms that 'are not willing to comply with that way of resolving politics': 'Clearly, it is what we see today in the Middle East,' he added. Finally, he referred to the release of the Argentine gendarme in Venezuela, Nahuel Gallo, and expressed his happiness. 'Some of us were even persecuted and had warrants issued for our arrest through a prosecutor. I celebrate that a compatriot has been released in Venezuela, but I also celebrate that there were no political prices,' he concluded. Additionally, he expressed pride in presiding over the Argentine Forum for the Defense of Democracy, who also promoted the capture of the former Venezuelan president. 'We were the ones who requested the arrest of Maduro here and now his extradition.'
