Buenos Aires, Feb 27 (NA) – In a state of maximum alert due to its claim for the reopening of collective bargaining agreements at National Viality, frozen since 2024, the Union of Road Workers and Affiliates of the Argentine Republic (STVyARA) marched today to the National Congress alongside the Front for Union (FreSU). The entity led by Graciela Aleñá mobilized within the framework of the treatment in the Chamber of Senators of the changes in the labor reform project, reported the Argentine News Agency. The leader stated that "the fight against this nefarious reform is one we have to take to the streets." Thus, she deepened that "both union organizations and workers have to be on the streets and defend our rights, which cost years and years of struggle." On the other hand, she indicated that "we cannot admit that some who believe they are enlightened think that with this they are going to generate jobs or that with this they are going to solve the economic and political problem that the country has." And she added: "they want to take everything away from us, they intend for us to earn $2.50 and for each worker to manage on their own with the bosses." Collective Bargaining. Likewise, the union leader denounced that "we are aware that they also want to interfere with our collective bargaining agreement, but we are not going to allow it." She also recalled that workers of the National Directorate of Viality (DNV) have not had salary increases for more than a year, that representatives of the Undersecretariat for Development and Modernization of Public Employment did not attend the latest collective bargaining hearings, and that there has been no formal proposal for increases. Finally, during the demonstration, Aleñá affirmed that "the only fight we can give is with the workers." And she sentenced that that fight must be "for our agreement, for National Viality and also for the Argentine people, because the state of the roads and its defunding is what harms them".
