Argentina Senate Prepares to Pass Controversial Labor Reform

Buenos Aires, February 27 (NA) – The Senate was preparing to pass the Labor Reform promoted by Javier Milei this Friday. Therefore, some streets surrounding the Congress will be closed due to the presence of various organizations and unions opposing the aforementioned law. According to Noticias Argentina agency, there will be two fences around the Congress, while it is expected that protesters will head to the area of Plaza Congreso, within the perimeter delimited by Entre Ríos Avenue, Rivadavia Avenue, Virrey Cevallos and Hipólito Yrigoyen Avenue. Meanwhile, the Government has deployed a major security operation involving at least two thousand officers from the Federal Police and the City Police. Infantry brigades, motorized units, water trucks, SAME ambulances, firefighters, and special groups will also be present. The Ministry of Security has established a perimeter on Hipólito Yrigoyen at 1700 towards Virrey Cevallos. According to reports, this is where the different columns will move: Retirees: will march along Rivadavia Avenue, between Combate de los Pozos and Callao. Polo Obrero-MST-FIT-Unidad and other picketer organizations along with Garrahan and Fate workers will gather at Rivadavia Avenue and Entre Ríos. ATE from Bernardo de Yrigoyen and Avenida de Mayo. United Front and Judiciary Union will concentrate on Salta and Avenida de Mayo. The two CTA from 10 AM on Salta and Avenida Belgrano. A delegation of UTEP will concentrate on Hipólito Yrigoyen and Virrey Cevallos.
