Former San Lorenzo president criticizes football leadership for poor management

Buenos Aires, Feb 26 (NA) - The former president of San Lorenzo, Marcelo Moretti, launched harsh criticism against the leadership of Argentine football and defended his economic management at the club. In statements to the channel La Nación Más, to which the Argentine News Agency had access, the former manager assured that the debts of the institutions are not due to external factors but to bad administrations. "Do you believe that clubs owe money because of the Argentine Football Association? Clubs owe money because the leaders are very bad," he stated. Moretti maintained that during his management he managed to significantly reduce the passive of the Cyclone and emphasized that his Board of Directors "reduced 15 million dollars of debt in 24 months." The leader also questioned previous administrations for the financial situation he found upon taking office and assured that his departure from the club was due to internal political reasons. "I am out because they did an institutional coup against me," he concluded, reviving the controversy around the recent leadership of San Lorenzo. Some time ago, Moretti, who left San Lorenzo in a serious institutional crisis, recognized being sure that "Justice will give him reason because this was a coup d'état." In this context, the former manager announced that he will request that the first-instance sentence be reconsidered and, if necessary, he will appeal to the civil chamber. On the other hand, he detailed that "from my own pocket in two years I put 400 thousand dollars. I made the list badly and many people betrayed me."
