Buenos Aires, February 23 (NA) – Economic Crimes Court Judge Diego Amarante has authorized AFA President Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia to leave the country for Barranquilla, Colombia, and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between this Monday and next weekend, despite the existing restriction in the case in which he is implicated. The measure was conditional upon the posting of a five million pesos real bond and the fulfillment of other procedural obligations, as confirmed by the Argentine News Agency from judicial sources.
According to the judicial resolution, the trip was permitted because it does not interfere with the investigations scheduled for March 5, and no elements were found to suggest that the individual's departure from the country could hinder the legal process. Tapia had requested authorization to participate in official activities as President of the AFA and Vice President of CONMEBOL, having already submitted formal invitations and flight schedules to the tribunal.
