Two recent polls have sent concerning signals for the political landscape. Among the universe of Peronist-Kirchnerist voters, Governor Axel Kicillof appears to be in a better position than former President Cristina Kirchner. In a parallel national survey, President Javier Milei has registered a negative image differential for the first time in the recent cycle, following the legislative election boost.
The same poll places Patricia Bullrich above the President in terms of image, a sensitive point for a leadership that has built a strong personalist core and measures its strength through direct public opinion engagement. In the opposition chapter, the Giacobbe survey includes a qualitative question that directly targets Cristina Kirchner: 67% of respondents see her as a leader of 'the past', while 20% view her as 'of the present' and only 11% associate her with 'the future'.
The first of these studies, conducted jointly by D'Alessio IROL and Berensztein consultancies, is the 'Social Mood Monitor'. It covers 800 cases surveyed online between January 16 and 26, and measures segmented opinions by orientation and voting intention. Within the universe of citizens who voted for 'Fuerza Patria' in 2025, Kicillof achieves an 89% positive image rating, leading Cristina Kirchner by 13 percentage points, who only has 76%. Other figures with significant support include Mauricio Macri (68%), MartÃn Menem (60%), Victoria Villarruel (58%), and Cristian Ritondo (57%), a picture that shows, despite political tensions, an expanded officialist space with allies and figures from the PRO ecosystem.
The second measurement, by Jorge Giacobbe, surveyed 2,500 cases nationally between January 27 and February 2. It reveals the data that triggered alarms in the Casa Rosada: Javier Milei registers 42.8% positive image and 47.1% negative, a return to adverse numbers after the late 2025 surge associated with the legislative victory of La Libertad Avanza.
