Buenos Aires, February 12 (NA) – The co-secretary general of the CGT, Cristian Jerónimo, warned this Thursday that the passage of the labor reform law in the Senate is an attempt to 'cover up' the 'failure' of the government's economic plan before public opinion. 'With this, they seek to hide what is really happening in Argentina, which is that the government's economic plan has already failed. We must exhaust all our capacity to speak with the deputies and also with the governors,' he stated. Regarding the provincial authorities who supported the law through their legislators, the union leader said: 'We know that they are having a hard time in the provinces, but they cannot set aside their convictions for the sake of revenue sharing or for things that the government ends up not giving them anyway.' He announced that if the bill is finally passed in the Chamber of Deputies, the CGT will have 'the judicial instance because this law has many unconstitutional articles'. #AgenciaNA 'Every day companies close and jobs are lost, and it's because the economy is not functioning,' he stated. The head of the Glassworkers Union said that the approval of the labor reform was achieved 'due to the irresponsibility of many senators and the complicity of governors who claim to defend the workers but in the end turn their backs on them'. Jerónimo asserted that the reform will not generate formal employment because 'the government does not have a productive model, and it only sustains itself through financial speculation and the indiscriminate opening of imports'. 'We will not allow any worker rights to be trampled upon, we still have the instance of the Chamber of Deputies.'
