Peronist Senate Head Criticizes New Labor Law

Buenos Aires, February 11 (NA) – José Mayans, president of the Peronist bloc in the Senate, stated that the Labor Modernization Bill promoted by the government goes against workers. In press statements, he affirmed that they are “not in agreement” because it “violates” Article 14 bis, which guarantees labor rights, social rights, and decent working conditions. Additionally, he asserted that this initiative contradicts international treaties, with proposals such as the “Bank of Hours,” especially given that current salaries “are minimal.” “This goes against not only workers, but also profits and provincial governments, because the ruling party will go directly to the provincial pension funds. Santa Fe, for example, will support this, amidst its problem with the Police…”, Mayans concluded.
