Buenos Aires, February 4 (NA) – The Minister of the Interior, Diego Santilli, met today with the head of the PRO's bloc of deputies, Cristian Ritondo, with whom he discussed the agenda of reforms that the Government proposes to address within the framework of the extraordinary sessions of Congress. Both agreed on the “importance of the labor reform advancing in Congress as a key tool to generate more formal employment, boost investment, and modernize the labor market,” the Government indicated in a communiqué. Additionally, they addressed the need to “advance the debate on lowering the age of criminal responsibility, considering that there are projects presented by both parties and the relevance this discussion has for security in the province of Buenos Aires.” Hours earlier, Santilli had met with the Head of Cabinet, Manuel Adorni, and the governor of Corrientes, Juan Pablo Valdés, amidst negotiations over the labor reform. The meeting, which also included the provincial Minister of Economy, Marcelo Rivas Piasentini, took place on the same day that the meeting of provincial heads at the Federal Council of Investments (CFI) to establish a common position was suspended. The officials from the ruling party and Valdés analyzed the package of reforms that Congress will address in extraordinary sessions. IP As reported by the Argentine News Agency, La Libertad Avanza, along with dialogist blocs, will seek to pass the Juvenile Penal Regime project next Thursday in the Chamber of Deputies, which establishes a reduction of the age of criminal responsibility to 14 years. The head of the PRO bloc, Cristian Ritondo, reported that the intention is to issue a report on Wednesday and to debate it in the chamber on Thursday the 14th, and clarified that the age of 14, which was consensus last year between the ruling party and a group of opposition blocs, will be established.
