Buenos Aires, Feb 4 (NA) – Health Minister Mario Lugones highlighted on Wednesday the measure that led to the dismissal of 11 workers at Garrahan Hospital, including 10 union delegates, for an occupation that took place last October. 'Those responsible for occupying the hospital's Medical Directorate offices were not caring for children or defending the health team. They were carrying out a political action to claim payment for days they did not work, putting the hospital's functioning at risk,' Lugones stated. In his post, the national Health Minister emphasized: 'At Garrahan, children are cared for, and in Argentina, the law is upheld.' While some have been trying to obstruct the hospital's tasks for months, Garrahan continues to grow: it performs high-complexity surgeries, receives children from all over the country, and strengthens its role as a reference pediatric hospital in the region.
