Buenos Aires, Feb. 4 (NA) -- Economy Minister Luis Caputo assured tonight that former INDEC head Marco Lavagna "left on good terms" and that his departure was due to technical issues concerning the inflation index. In this regard, Caputo stated that "there is nothing to hide" following Lavagna's resignation and clarified that "there was no pressure from the IMF" to alter the measurement. "There was an idea to apply Marco's method when the disinflation stage arrived, he had announced a specific date, but the issue was delayed," the minister explained, adding that "there was a political attack" by some groups "who want the country to do poorly." Additionally, in an interview with La Nación + channel, Caputo indicated that "the INDEC issue had no impact" on the government led by Javier Milei.
