In the last hours, there have been no advances in the negotiations, so the government used the tool of conciliation to stop the strike measure that had been announced on Monday. The disagreement remained because the national government offers a 2% salary update for December, while monthly inflation reached 2.8%.

Faced with the possibility that conciliation would be ordered, Maturano had already indicated that the union would act within the legal framework and would comply with the resolution issued by the government. For the union leader, the ruling coalition "trampled on collective bargaining" and does not comply with safety measures that they demand, amid complaints about the critical state of the railway infrastructure.

The Ministry of Human Capital decreed mandatory conciliation on Wednesday in the conflict with La Fraternidad, thus deactivating the train strike planned for this Thursday. The measure, which has been in effect since midnight Wednesday, establishes a 15-day period for the parties to return to the negotiating table regarding the salary claim, according to the Argentine News Agency. During this period, the train drivers' union led by Omar Maturano must refrain from taking strike action.

How it was unfolding The strike was set to affect all lines in the AMBA (Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area) for 24 hours this Thursday.
