The wife of Konstantin Rudnev, Tamara Rudneva, stated that her husband is 'dying in prison and no one is doing anything.' She also revealed that she suspects the Argentine justice system 'fabricated' this case because her husband is Russian, and 'this is how they get favors from someone.' Rudneva declared that the detainee is a 'political prisoner.' Rudneva attacked the national justice system, indicating that it is 'very common in Argentina to imprison a person with preventive detention without any guilt or proof.' She also detailed certain irregularities the accused faced: 'He signs papers saying he wants treatment and does so in Russian because he doesn't know Spanish, but they don't translate them, they do nothing.' Rudneva also stated that her husband is a 'political prisoner' because he was a dissident in Russia, always against Putin, and was constantly being reprimanded. She added that he suffers from many diseases, including a heart attack and pulmonary fibrosis, which is a fatal illness. Rudneva stated that due to the relationship between the government of Javier Milei in Argentina and the administration of Donald Trump in the United States, and the enmity the latter has with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, her husband is a 'political prisoner.'
