Peruvian with 20 criminal charges expelled from Argentina

Buenos Aires, Feb 2 (NA) – A Peruvian national with over 20 charges for repeated robberies has been expelled under the Migration Law No. 25.871. Police sources informed the Argentine News Agency that the individual is Luis Humberto Bastos Espinoza, a criminal with legal proceedings since 2016 for theft, attempted robbery, and grievous bodily harm. In several of these cases, he received effective prison sentences and was declared a repeat offender. Sentences were handed down in 2018, 2019, 2022, 2024, and 2025, while other cases are still pending or have pending rulings. The thief was held in various police stations (Anexo Cavia) in the City of Buenos Aires while authorities analyzed his criminal record and immigration status. The Federal Administrative Court No. 1 of the City of Buenos Aires authorized his deportation, which was carried out by personnel from the Federal Department of Investigations (DFI).
